I HAVE NDIS FUNDING…WHAT NOW?

If you have filled out an Access Request Form the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will review your application and check if you meet the criteria to receive support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Once the NDIA has made a decision they will send you a letter to let you know the outcome. If you have not been approved for support under the NDIS, the letter will give you information about why your application has been rejected and what you can do if you would like to appeal the decision.
If you have been approved for funding through the NDIS you will be contacted by a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to discuss your first plan. This planning meeting can be held over the phone, in an LAC office or the LAC representative can come to your home.
During the planning meeting the LAC representative will look at your personal circumstances, what disability you have and the supports you need to live well. With your input they will set some goals for you to work towards with the help of the NDIS supports.
After the planning meeting the LAC writes up the plan and once it has been approved by the NDIA you will receive a copy of the plan.
As soon as you have approval for your plan you are ready to start finding providers to deliver the support services you need to work towards your individual goals. At Sharron Andrea, we pride ourselves on having quality relationships with all of our participants whom we proudly know on a first name basis, and by placing you at the centre of our service delivery model our services are tailored to meet your individual needs and help you achieve your goals.
